Dr. Rao was born in Chicago and grew up in Olympia Fields, Illinois. He attended Saint Louis University for his undergraduate studies as both a Pre Medical and Presidential Scholar. He attended Saint Louis University School of Medicine where he received a Medical Degree with a Distinction in Research. He completed his residency in Urology at Loyola University Medical Center (including rotations at Children’s Memorial Hospital and the Hines VA Hospital). During his residency, he published and presented multiple projects on a wide array of topics including kidney stones and urological cancers, won the Chicago Urological Society Resident Essay contest twice, and achieved the highest score on the resident in-service exam in the country. He has a strong interest in minimally invasive surgery (including laparoscopy and robotics), men’s health, and laser surgery to treat kidney stones and enlarged prostates. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, playing tennis and golf, and watching sports. He is the current Market President for USNI.
